43 Ladies Graduate from Maria Centre in Abuja


Inaugural graduation ceremony took place on June 23.

A graduation ceremony took place at the camp for Internally Displaced People (IDP) oustide the city of Abuja, Nigeria last Thursday (June 23). A total of forty three women graduated from the Skills Training programme. Sr. Anne Falola, OLA of the Maria Centre remarked that skills training and empowerment will enable the new graduants 'to face the future with renewed hope'. 

The Maria Centre, an OLA Sisters project, was set-up in response who the influx of people fleeing the Boko Haram war in north-eastern Nigeria.

On the day funds were also raised through a sale of work which included many crafts items made by the graduating women.
