Saturday 11th March was a special day in the lives of two OLA Sisters who marked seventy years of missionary service. Sr. Eugenius Colbert, a native of Dungourney, Co. Cork, and Sr. Rosarii O'Sullivan, originally from Dirreen, Athea, Co. Limerick celebrated their platinum jubilees. Both made their first religious profession in the Spring of 1947.
Sr. Eugenius gave many years of missionary service in Ghana and Nigeria. She spent more than twenty years as matron of St. Philomena's Hospital, Benin, Nigeria.
After training as a primary school teacher, Sr. Rosarii followed the example of her older sister (Sr. Liam) and joined the OLAs. She went on to serve as a teacher in Kaduna, Jos, Agbor and many other areas across Nigeria.
Both Sisters have been blessed with good health and enjoyed the occasion, surrounded by their family, friends and fellow OLA Sisters.
Congratulations to them both!
