'Fear not, for I am with you'
The 51st World Communications Day will take place on Sunday, 28th May. The theme for Pope Francis' message is 'Fear not, I am always with you: Communicating Hope and Trust in our Time'.

Three points from Pope Francis' message:
1. Pope Francis is convinced that we need to break the vicious cycle of bad news. He does not mean that communicators should spread misinformation but instead focus on solutions and inspire a positive response on the part of those receiving the message.
2. He shares the example of Jesus where suffering became part of a bigger picture - His love for us all. Pope Francis points out that 'love needs to draw near and raise our sympathetic hearts, resolute faces and hands ready to build anew'.
3. Confidence in the seed of the Kingdom: The Kingdom of God is like the seed that is easily overlooked yet silently takes root among the weeds. Confidence in the seed enables us to carry out our work and 'highlight the good news present in every story and in the face of each person'.
