Maria Centre in Nigeria Holds Exhibition Day
Centre continues to offer hope to those fleeing from war.

An exhibition recently took place at the Maria Centre in Abuja, Nigeria. The Maria Centre was set-up in a camp for Internally Displaced People (IDP). It offers skills training to the many women who fled to Abuja from surrounding areas controlled by the fundamentalist group Boko Haram
During the exhibition, many women proudly displayed the fruits of their labour. Sr. Anne Falola, OLA, who was involved in setting up the Maria Centre, expressed great pride when the ladies gave speeches at the exhibition event: “They amazed us. The centre only opened on March 8th and they have learnt the skills very quickly. Many of the women say that they are so delighted to be useful and are eager to learn more”.
The rainy season has now arrived in the region and it has been decided to build some makeshift shelters so the women can continue to come and learn.
