Nigerian Writers Feature at Dublin Literature Festival

Authors Chibundu Onuzo and Noo Saro-Wiwa took part in a Dublin International Literature Festival event titled 'Writing Nigeria' last Saturday, 20th May, 2017. Both novelists wrote about Nigeria in recent publications and the Dublin event explored their portrayal of their native land.
Noo Saro-Wiwa is a daughter of the late Ken Saro-Wiwa. Sr. Majella McCarron, OLA, befriended Mr. Saro-Wiwa while she was lecturing at the University of Lagos in 1993. She subsequently became his messenger to the outside world while he was in prison. During this time, Mr. Saro-Wiwa sent 28 letters and 27 poems to Sr. Majella. These letters and poems have since been donated by Sr. Majella to Maynooth University to form part of the Ken Saro-Wiwa Archive.The letters and poems also formed the basis of a book on his life, which was authored by Noo Saro-Wiwa.
The Dublin International Literature Festival runs until May 29th.
