SMA Launches 'Living Laudato Si' Summer School


2016 SMA Summer School in Dromantine to focus on environment.

The Society of African Missions (SMA) recently launched their annual summer school programme which will take place in Dromantine, Co. Down from 25-27 June, 2016.

With the theme 'Living Laudato Si', the aim will be to gain a great understanding of the theological, spiritual and practical application of the Pope's most recent encyclical. Published in June 2015, Laudato Si' focuses on how consumerism and irresponsible development are damaging the environmental while contributing to global warming.

The summer school will be faciliated by Dr. Kevin O'Gorman, SMA. Plenary speakers include Dr. Cathriona Russell from Trinity College Dublin, Fr. Donal Dorr, Fr. Sean McDonagh and Dr. Lorna Gold of Trocaire. There will be also workshops by Prof. Eamonn Conway and Sr. Mary Kate Hagan among others.
