OLA Lenten Justice Mornings

“Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?” (Isaiah 58:6)

The Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles of Ardfoyle Convent would like to invite you to join us in learning about Justice from a biblical and Catholic perspective.

Lent is a time to “turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel” – to re-orient ourselves once more towards God and to live justly in faith.

Beginning on the second Tuesday of Lent at 11am, we will be screening video presentations from the Society of African Missions’ programme “Living Faith Means Living Justly”. Each video presentation (approx. 30 minutes) will be followed by group discussion. This programme aims to provide participants with an understanding of what our faith teaches as the starting point for a Christian response to justice issues in our world.

The programme includes five video presentations:

  • Justice in the Old Testament – part 1: 19th March
  • Justice in the Old Testament – part 2:  26th March
  • Justice in the New Testament:   2nd April
  • Key Themes in Catholic Social Teaching:  9th April
  • Care for Creation: 16th April

All are welcome!

Location: Ardfoyle Convent, Ballintemple, Cork T12 Y304

Time and Dates: 11am on Tuesday 19th and 26th March, 2nd, 9th, and 16th April.
