The Women’s Interfaith Council (WIC) recently took part in a Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) training. The training was focused on intra-religious capacity building, and aimed at Christian religious actors and traditional leaders.
The training outcomes were to strengthen and support religious actors in challenging harmful intra religious norms and practices, transforming radicalisation and extremism, addressing intra religious grievances and promoting intra religious interaction, while influencing FoRB (Freedom of Religion or Beliefs) policies at all levels.
“The Women’s Interfaith Council (WIC) remains grateful to God for the successful completion of the JISRA 3-day Pillar II-Interreligious dialogue capacity building training… for promotion of Freedom of Religion or Beliefs (FORB) and human rights for peaceful co-existence in the selected communities in Kaduna State,” said Sr Vera Ify Onyeanisi OLA, Executive Director.
