You are invited to attend an overview of the Universal Periodic Review process of the UN Human Rights Council and our joint submission. We intend to present and explain the joint submission to the UPR of Ireland to which many of you added your signatures of support. In this presentation we will explain further the UPR process which is the context for our submission.
As you know, Ireland will be under review this coming November and our submission is but a first step in encouraging the Irish government to implement our recommendations. These recommendations are in respect of:
1. Human Trafficking
2. Migrants, Refugees and Asylum Seekers
3. Domestic and Gender Based Violence.
We are grateful to all who have supported us thus far by signing our submission and to those who have supported us in other ways. We would welcome your company on Wednesday July 14th at 7.00pm (approx. 1 hour) which will provide an opportunity to understand the UPR as we move forward in the process with your help.
The proposed programme for the webinar:
- Welcome and the purpose of the webinar
- Explain ย the UPR
- Present the Joint Submission to the Irish UPR
- Next Steps in the Process and the opportunity for Advocacy
- Q & A
