As we learned in yesterday’s resource, Biodiversity, Food Chains and Food Webs, the biodiversity of a habitat refers to species richness and abundance of plant and animal species in that habitat. Biodiversity and the Cycle of Life relies on different species of plant and animal linked together in food chains and food webs, and this all form part of an ecological system, but what is meant by Eco-system?
